We went to the Great Ocean Rd. today. The son of one of my father's colleagues and I visited some spots.
In the way to Great Ocean Rd., I made a friend with an Australian student who was from Macau SAR. We talked about the differences in education among Mainland, Macau, Hong Kong and Australia. He introduced me the life in Australian university.
The students from China were always good at academic, so they had more time to do part-time jobs and learn English. He told me a good way to build a native English which was reciting the English article and talking with the foreigners and reading the English newspapers. I found he was good at English now. He communicated with his partner which seemed from China in English, and in our discussion, we had some trouble in some terms because of the languages.
He told me there were also exams before universities in Macau. But the exams were organized by universities. He told me Hong Kong universities were very good while I was rejected by HKUST because of the improper major-choice.
He said some students abroad did not focus on study but just on something bad. They did not make money but spend much. He said he was not good at study in Macau, but going-abroad gave him a chance to make a new life.
I had to say, in many aspects, he was very like us, the students from Beijing High School 4. He could arrange his work and had his own thought but be able to get together with others.
Not only was the trip fantastic, but also I made a good friend!
